PVBS 3

The Piab Vacuum & Blow System, PVBS 3, has been developed to increase the productivity of printing presses. It will improve the environmental conditions in a print shop and reduce the energy consumption. It is a decentralized system which has one pump with control feature for each function in the printing press. This provides the proper vacuum and blow level on every function while at the same time an excessive use of energy is avoided. The system only uses the energy needed to reach the necessary vacuum and blow level.

PVBS 3 consists of vacuum and blow pump modules, electronic control components and operator interfaces. The pump modules consist of P6010 and P6040 units. They are all equipped with unique COAX® multistage technology. COAX® ejectors are smaller, more efficient and more reliable than any other ejector technologies and the design allows for a flexible and modular system in order to optimize the performance.

Vacuum and blow pumps

By using compressed air driven ejector pumps vs. traditional electromechanical vacuum and blow pumps, the system generates no heat at the point of use. The heat generating source has been removed from the print shop into a compressor room. This solution easily allows the use of heat recovery systems. Heat exchangers can convert the ...

Optimizing and electronic controls

The electronic components convert signals and send them to the pressure regulator on pump modules, which are mounted as close as possible to the functions they are dedicated for. This decentralized installation avoids flow losses due to long vacuum or blow hoses. With remote touch screen terminals, the machine operator can easily ...
